We are entering into a very exciting time here at EHG North America and I wanted to reach out to you personally as we trust by now you have heard about the planned acquisition of the Erwin Hymer Group by Thor Industries. It is the outcome of the dual track process which the Hymer family had initiated to find a future oriented succession which allows the Group to continue its successful growth trajectory. The management of EHG including myself is very pleased by the decision for Thor group. With Thor and EHG the North American and European heavy weights are combined to create the biggest global manufacturer for leisure vehicles. The activities of both Groups are highly complementary – in terms of international reach and product portfolio. Moreover, Thor is a successful and long term-oriented owner that represents many industry leading brands and people such as Airstream, Keystone, Dutchman, Heartland.
It is Thor’s philosophy, to provide its business units such as EHG entrepreneurial freedom to respond to local market conditions and act in accordance with their customers’ needs. Under the umbrella of publicly traded Thor, EHG will continue to operate, as before, as a group with 24 brands. This holds true for our operations in Europe as well as in North America. For us here it is very important that we continue to bring European brands and styling along with our highest quality to North America just as we always have.
Roadtrek, Hymer, Sunlight, Carado, Eriba and many more superb brands will come your way.
Questions have already been surfacing and I wanted to address them all and answer then as clearly as possible for you.

Q: What is Thor doing to change service and warranty?

Q: Will warranties be changed?
Q: Will you still be launching European designed products?
Q: Is management changing at EHG North America?
A: No, the same key people will remain.
Q: Will Jim Hammill (President and CEO) be around still for consumers to reach out to?
A: Yes, absolutely
We are the same great company today as we always have been, we are not going to change our customer service formula, as it’s that formula and great innovative products that made us so desirable for someone to acquire us.
This transaction is a very good thing for all of us, I am personally pleased about it and it has my complete endorsement as the right thing to do. I hope you feel the same way and we look forward to continuing serving you in the years ahead.
